About Me

Hello! Thank you for visiting my site. I am Kitchie, the owner/manager/principal of KM Health Insurance Services. My beautiful family includes my son, who is in his late teens; my husband (a retired US Air Force veteran); and a female dog - a tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. Then, I moved to Hawaii, where my family lived for almost twenty years before relocating to the Metro DC area. 

Over the years, I have received training and worked in clinical medicine, clinical laboratory, the administrative and finance side of healthcare, health insurance, health information technology, and healthcare informatics.

I've also used software systems for many years to conduct my analyses in business development, healthcare marketing, hospital and physician services pricing, and many more.  

With a thorough understanding of the US Healthcare System, I am dedicated to helping my clients by educating them on how to use their health plans to stay healthy and lower their healthcare costs. 

Because Medicare benefits are tied to Social Security, I believe understanding Social Security and its rules and regulations will benefit my clients and the community. 

Today, as an independent and licensed health insurance professional (agent/broker/producer), I enjoy helping people through education, guidance, and assistance as they shop, enroll in the most suitable health coverage, and also as a resource, helping answer my clients' questions.

As an independent and licensed health insurance broker, my services come at no cost to you. I represent multiple trusted insurance carriers, which means I work for you, not a specific company.

I'm a problem solver. So, I do the heavy lifting regarding thinking and analyzing. And then, I educate and simplify for you, helping you make informed decisions. However, you may find me asking for more information from you. 

Whether you are shopping or searching for a health plan or need support navigating your current plan, working together makes a huge difference. 

The extent of my knowledge, experience, and analysis skills allow me to simplify something complicated. Many people in healthcare focus on one area but lack holistic acumen. But I have dedicated time and effort to learning the whole industry from the different areas to grasp the bigger picture while working on the details.

My goal is to educate and assist you in shopping for and enrolling in the most suitable health plan. I will also continue to be a resource after your enrollment, answering your questions and providing guidance and support. 

I truly believe that maintaining our health is essential for managing our wealth. When shopping for health coverage, we shouldn't limit our goals to lowering costs. We should also learn to use our health plans to improve, maintain, or manage our health.
